How To Be A Rebel - While Being Alcohol Free
For the first time ever, JOMO Club’s April subscription box showcased an alcohol-free Amaretto. We curate and build every single JOMO box, so we always take a small intake of breath as they start to land with our members awaiting feedback on the serves, spirits and everything in between! So, what did our members think about this months’ JOMO spirit? They just LOVED it! In fact, we had people emailing asking if they could still get their hands on it as they saw it was an Amaretti and were desperate to try.
“When I drunk alcohol, I did occasionally drink Amaretto. I’ve always been nervous about trying an alcohol-free version though as I thought it would be overly sweet but it was wonderful. A nice bite to it with some after spice along with the almond, marzipan taste'“

Q: What is the perfect setting, occasion and way to serve the Amaretto spirit? Amaretto is widely recognized for its classic use in the popular Sour cocktail. Q: Can we take a second to talk to the sweet cocktails lovers. What cocktail would you recommend for them? DRY-TAI is a deliciously flavoured cocktail. If you’re looking for something fresh and satisfying at the same time for a party you’re having, REBELS DRY-TAI is a variety you can prepare at your home. With a prominent rum flavor and a bit of orange and pineapple on the backend you will immediately feel the tropical feelings and thanks to the Amaretto it immediately becomes an inviting cozy refreshing drink.
Q: Your spirits use natural botanicals and are double distilled. How important was it for you to use natural botanicals and why is it important for a non-alc spirit to be double distilled? Thanks to our DOUBLE DISTILLING process, in which we distill our botanicals not only once but twice by combining traditional and modern distilling methods, we manage to completely avoid alcohol along the way and yet still bring out the intense and complex flavours.
Q: Can you tell us a bit about the inspiration behind Rebels? The idea for the Startup came up when our Founder Christof realised that it is always that last Gin & Tonic that you regret the next morning, or that you all too often just drink alcohol because of the lack of exciting alternatives. It was never about being anti-alcohol but about having another choice in moments when you don't want to drink alcohol. That's why we wanted to develop alcohol-free spirits with which you can mix your favorite drinks to cheers with, just without the alcohol.
Q: When you launched, you said you had a lot of support but also some irritated faces. Why do you think that was and have you seen this change at all since the launch? At the real beginning we received a lot of encouraging feedback for the idea, but also some irritated, odd faces... And exactly that polarizing feedback motivated us. Society is still very much dominated by alcohol-driven drinking rituals and we want to celebrate all the free-spirited rebels out there who proudly join us in the cheer revolution.
